I was thinking why there has been so much happiness and joy in our home these past few weeks! I believe it is because of the #bad day good project we started 4 weeks ago. Not only has my hubby and I had to find what we wanted to do for our bad day good, but our kids are having to think outside of themselves and find ways they want to serve others and turn others bad days into something good but little did they now it would be making their bad days even better!
We all know how we feel around Christmas time, and I am so thankful for the spirit of Christ that enters our hearts and home this time of year. I am also thankful for the willingness my teens and young adult children had in being excited about starting this bad day good project. This is something you don't have to wait until December to do. We started it at the beginning of November because we wanted to teach our kids that we can show our gratitude for our lives and everything we had by serving others.
I had no idea how such simple and small acts of service can really make the difference!
Service really is the secret to finding lasting happiness and joy, especially this holiday season!
After finishing the shopping for our bad day good project, we decided to drive to see the lights and reindeer at Thanksgiving Point. Poor little Ireland wasn't feeling well and as we were showing her the reindeer she started to throw-up…. apparently the stomach flu. So sad to see her sick but we all had a good laugh when her daddy ran to a potted tree at Thanksgiving point for her to puke in!She tried to enjoy herself but was too sick to really care.
We then made a short quick drive through the lights, crammed in the back of Kaylee and Bubba's mini-van! The lights and laughter seemed to take Ireland's mind off of her tummy ache as we all enjoyed spending the fun night together! Here our a few of our pics from tonight!
