Reaching Milestones

Can I just say I am so excited to know that today is the last day of school for my teens. I also am so excited that J'Dee will be graduating tomorrow and that Shaniah, my youngest took her drivers ed test today and passed with flying colors.

Seriously…. I thought I would be sad to see my baby boy graduate and to see my baby girl get her drivers license. BUT….. honestly I was celebrating knowing that my son actually graduated (because he had such senioritis)  and I was jumping for joy knowing that I no longer had to be the taxi driver for my daughter!!!

I know I should probably be bawling my eyes out because my babies are growing up….but I am not! I am so excited to finally have them be more independent and really looking forward to watching them begin a new chapter in their lives.

J'Dee has played baseball since he was 5 and he really wants to just find a job and work hard and save his money for the summer. Shaniah has been waiting for over a month for her drivers ed teacher to complete her drivers test. She is so excited to get her license, get a job, and finally be able to drive herself all over without her mom in the car!!!

Although growing up can be very challenging with all the choices they have to make, it is also very fun and rewarding to watch your children reach milestones in their lives. Graduations, drivers licenses, dating, getting new jobs are all just a part of the growing up experience. As a mom it is fun to ride along on this journey with them! These times are really what makes the bad times all worth it!
