Niah's Record Breaking Swim

Today was the last day of Shaniah's meet. After the qualifier day yesterday she had to place in the top 16 in her event in order to compete in the finals. Shaniah did place in the top 16! Today when she swam she broke her own fastest time in her 50 free. She swam it in 27.9 seconds. Her two relay teams took 3rd place overall in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay.

I was so proud of her and all the hard work and dedication paid off for her today when she obtained her fastest time ever. I have not seen her so excited over her swimming until after she obtained her fastest time.

She has shed tears of exhaustion the past few months as she has worked 3-4 hours a day swimming or doing dry land. It is utterly exhausting for her trying to keep with school and her social life. She told me a few weeks ago she was not swimming next year for her senior year, but after today I think she might be reconsidering it.
