Before starting chiropractics two times a day I was flaring every 3-5 days and each flare would last any where from 2-4 days depending on what caused the flare; over-doing, stress, food allergens, or even the weather. But now 7 weeks into two-a-day adjustments I am noticing improvements. I am extremely happy to have recovered so quickly from yesterdays flare. Usually a flare like yesterdays' would have taken about 3 days to recover from. I can't believe I bounced back so quickly and although I feel like my body went through the ringer yesterday I am really feeling about 75% better today!
I have learned over these past few months that when we go through adversity no matter what it is, it seems to amplify our attitudes, and exemplifies who we really are. It also tells us how close we are to becoming the person God wants us to become. Through our struggles we become aware of our strengths and weaknesses. We find out real quick where we are lacking in our lives and can tune-in to what areas we need to work on.
Before all of this I would think of myself as a pretty positive and happy person. I thought being busy, staying involved, and being successful in everything I did was the purpose to my existence. I was an overachiever and did everything 125% because it seemed to make me happy!
Since this disease I have spent many painful days and countless sleepless nights pondering what truly makes life worth living. It is not in the approval of others, nor is it in the successes of life. Happiness is simply what has been right in front of me the entire time. My family and the love we share has truly made life worth living.
Taking the time while on this earth to build and strengthen our relationships as a family has helped us prepare to live eternally someday. Eternity is a very long time and if we miss the purpose of this life and forget to put every ounce of energy where it needs and should be then we are missing out on the whole purpose of life. We are sent here to be tried and tested and it is the family who helps us get through these challenges. The family will be the only thing, other than our knowledge, that we will take with us after this life.
This adversity that I am currently traveling through has amplified my attitude and helped me to focus more in-depth on what really matters in this life and has made me extremely grateful for my family!
Adversity has amplified my attitude of gratitude!
